This classic recipe, from \"Good Housekeeping Baking,\" is also known as seven-minute frosting. The marshmallowlike texture gives it a fluffy appearance.
2 egg whites
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
Directions 1. Place egg whites, sugar, water, corn syrup and cream of
tartar in the top of a double-boiler or in a mixing bowl
set over simmering water in a saucepan. Beat with a hand
mixer at high speed about 7 minutes.
2. Remove double-boiler top or mixing bowl from heat; beat
until mixture forms stiff peaks, 5-10 minutes.
